Negative COVID-19 test result

As of Tuesday 9 March 2021 passengers travelling to the Netherlands from a country not on the EU’s ‘Safe’-list and who are exempt from the EU entry ban can submit a negative COVID-19 test result in 2 different ways. This is an adjustment of the applicable travel restrictions (please see our previous news item in this respect).

The options are:

  • 2 negative test results (a negative PCR test result not older than 72 hours upon arrival in the Netherlands and a negative rapid test result within 4 hours prior to boarding a plane or ship to the Netherlands); OR
  • 1 negative test result (a negative PCR test result within 12 hours prior to boarding a plane or ship to the Netherlands).

The negative test result does not replace the requirement of self-quarantine upon arrival in the Netherlands.
